Play House is a collaborative exhibition with works by artist and friend Solsin Brask and myself, focused on private/public spaces of queer vulnerability. Queer spaces can provide a place of resistance and highlight visibility as well as inform us of our personal and collective identities. Through the use of our dollhouse we are able to convey playfulness as well as mirror our own realities. Through this medium we relay experiences of existence in these spaces.
While exploring queerness we looked at at spaces we feel comfortable in. Feelings of love and support are something many queer folks struggle to find - so we make these connections on our own and create our own families. We investigated what makes these spaces special to us and concluded that the people are what makes these spaces special and this is where we take our strength and security from.
